Hello dear visitors,

Welcome to my brand new much awaited Travel & Food page. This is a dream come true for me after many years of planning, traveling and travel writing. I have written feature stories for many travel publications and major newspapers such as Chicago Tribune, Des Moines Register, Transitions Abroad, Prague Reporter, Cosmopolitan Home, Grand Rapids Magazine, Farmer’s Advance, Advance Newspapers, Grand Rapids Press, J-Ad Graphics and West Michigan tourist guide.

I decided to launch the travel page with a story about a place that is very close to my heart.It is the grandiose Mackinac Island located in the Straits of Mackinac in Lake Huron. I’ve visited the island many times, but only once in winter. There are no cars on this island, and the major means of transportation are horses and bicycles. Time stands still here, while the world continues to rock. The 1980 movie “Somewhere in time” with Christopher Reeve was filmed here.
