Author Michael Farrell pens When Perfection Isn’t Perfect

https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-fhexg-14b12e7

Find one good thing a day……….

Farrell’s inspirational memoir touches all who feel they are broken, alone, have no hope in their future, and those who seek a true purpose for their life.

The story starts with Farrell’s crippling childhood anxieties to a desire to end the author’s life after believing there was no future or purpose for his life.

“If you look for bad things you will find them,” Farrell said.

Then after a divine encounter, Farrell turned the corner and sought one good thing a day. His sports participation and an eventual perfect national collegiate football record stand today as a testament to the amazing blessings God provides in life.

“This memoir was a way to thank my family, friends, and teammates who’ve helped me,” he said.

Author Chloe Holiday’s Fly Boy is the second book in the All-American Boy series.

“The book had to have a boy in the title, but all the good ones, like Lover Boy, had been taken,” Holiday said. “I am a pilot so I wanted to bring a little bit of sky to people.”

There’s conflict in the air…

Tricia Carlisle returns to Texas to settle her beloved grandmother’s estate, only to find that foreclosure looms. Her hopes for an easy solution—selling the family’s crop duster—are dashed when Travis Walker, her high school sweetheart-turned-enemy, claims he had a handshake deal with Nana to buy the plane.

In his North of Nelson anthology of short stories, author Hilton Everett Moore skillfully captures the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with its unique characters.

“The very area is a character,” he said. “The land expresses itself. It makes my stories work.”

Moore lives in a cabin in a remote area of Baraga County and transforms the ruggedness of the U.P. in his magnificent six short stories which have a common thread.

“Each short story has a moment in time,” he said.

The protagonists, the Martins, are featured in each story as they accompany each individual character.

Author Mandy Jo Rindhage pens A StormyTravel Thru Time

Drawing on her knowledge of family ancestry combined with historical fiction, author Mandy Jo Rindhage creates a time travel novel inspired by real-life characters, great grandfather Heinrich and great uncle Gustav.

“A Stormy Travel Thru Time has multiple time hops each is when a storm crops up,” Mandy Jo said. “They’re trying to get to Saginaw, Michigan.”

Rindhage is a multi-genre author who has no trouble switching gears between a fitness book, fantasy, and historical fiction.

The real challenge in the book was aging all the characters appropriately, according to Rindhage when they crossed paths on different occasions.

Michigan Reads connects authors with the world

https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-ityep-1372503

Michigan Reads is a functional gateway for Michigan independent authors which started out with authors Ingar Rudholm and Andrew Allen Smith. The site was tested and more authors were added.

“The purpose is to centralize Michigan authors in a single place,” said Smith. “I will be offering it to all authors in February or March.”

Eventually, more features were added such as electronic billboards. In the works are streaming and TV. The proposed cost per author per book is $10, and a requirement to write a review of somebody else’s book.

“You can have as many books as you want,” Smith said. “It’s a place that is easy to remember.”

The main innovation is name recognition, according to Smith.

It’s wintertime in Michigan (and other parts of the world), and authors aren’t easily able to meet with crowds of readers at book festivals and fairs like we do in the warmer months… so we’re hosting a Virtual Book Festival to give you the opportunity to discover new authors and their books… all while staying warm!

Each day, we’ll share live interviews with authors, listen to them read some of their work, play games, give away prizes with the Spinny Wheel of Happiness, and generally have a good time with the written word.

Writers can sometimes be a wacky group of unpredictable people… after all, we make stuff up for a living.  You never know what kind of literary shenanigans might happen…

So visit our Facebook page every day to see what’s coming next!
