I love Mackinac Island for its unique natural beauty and no automobiles. 

I have yet to visit the island during its iconic Lilac Festival in June, and for the Somewhere in Time weekend in October. 

Other than these two events, I visited and stayed on the island at least a dozen times, if not more.

One of my most fascinating stays was in winter for New Year’s eve. 

Time stops on the island, and once you leave you carry the island in your heart.

According to travel experts, the island is ready for the season.
