Daily insights from the National Novel Writing Month
Christmas through Lowell in full swing

Lowell, MI – I hit the “wall” this morning at 3:30 am as I laid wide awake not knowing what I was going to write about on the 17th day of the #NaNoWriMo creative project.
I had several titles on my mind without any specific plot evolution. That was it; I knew I had to go on the treadmill to come up with a solution.
In the 50K National Novel Writing Month, you cannot afford to lose a single day without writing.
It came clear to me in the repetitious action on the treadmill that I have to write something, anything and that later it will make sense.
I started “Raspberry Rage” (c) 2018 Emma Palova.
Apparently, I wasn’t the only one “hitting the wall.” Some 2,000 words into the story, I couldn’t validate the word count at 34,417 on the #NaNoWriMo site.
I also have to live, so I left for town to cover Christmas through Lowell. What a relief it was.
Stay tuned as the stories unravel.

I continue to write story no, 14 in the new short story collection “Shifting Sands: Secrets.” The story is “Waiting for Snow.”
